8 Ways to increase your confidence

Ever felt like you’re lacking confidence? Like you’re missing out on opportunities because you don’t believe in yourself?

We get it and we’ve most definitely been there. It’s an awful feeling but one that can most definitely be completely flipped on it’s head, here are some of our top tips on how to improve your confidence, soon you’ll be that confident queen we all know and love!

Celebrate your achievements

No matter how big or how small, those achievements are amazing!! Whether you tidied your room 5 minutes faster than usual or landed a big promotion at work, every accomplishment deserves to be acknowledged. It’s time to stop dulling down your accomplishments like they are just a given and you’re not worth the praise, you are, you’re amazing and you need to remember that!

Stop comparing yourself to others

This is one of the biggest killers of confidence and we’re all guilty of it. I know it’s so easy to say and not as easy to do but just being mindful of what you’re doing is a huge step forward, each time you think, “oh I’ll never be as good as them blah blah blah” just stop and think to yourself why are you comparing yourself to that person? We’re all on different paths and we don’t ever need to be trying to one up someone else or put ourselves down because we think they’re achieving more. You never know what the future holds, you could end up on a totally different path thats right for you.

Surround yourself with your “hype squad”

Who are your hype squad? Well these are the people that constantly hype up your achievements and tell you you’re doing a great job. These people are super positive and you won’t hear them bringing anyone else down. How do you find them? Well, make yourself the hype man and they will find their way to you, positivity attracts positivity. Go out there today and hype someone up, a family member, a friend, a stranger on instagram, we can assure you 9 times out of 10 the love will be reciprocated and not only that, you will feel extra positive for passing on the kindness.

Speak kindly to yourself

Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy and our biggest bullies can be ourselves. It’s time to block out that devil inside your head telling you nasty things like you’re not good enough, you don’t look a certain way that you should, you don’t deserve something, IT’S LYING TO YOU. Try something new, every morning wake up, look in the mirror and tell yourself 3 things you like about yourself, don’t counteract them with anything negative just say what you like, it can be about your appearance, something you’re good at, absolutely anything, then once you get used to that every time you say something negative about yourself counteract that by saying another 3 things you LOVE about yourself, soon you’ll start being kinder to yourself.

Step out of your comfort zone

Now I know you might think if you’re lacking confidence this is the last thing you’d want to do but it’s often one of the biggest ways to grow your confidence. The more you step out of your comfort zone the more confident you will become. Start small think of something you don’t feel 100% comfortable with right now, It may be going to a cafe for lunch on your own, push yourself to do that one thing and the sense of achievement will be so good you will carry on. Try and do at least 1 thing each day which makes you step out your comfort zone. Who knows this time next year you might do something crazy like travelling the world by yourself. We believe in you.

Dress to make you feel confident

This can be different for so many people, some feel confident in a killer dress and heels with a full face of makeup on, some feel most confident with a slicked back pony tail, a bit of mascara and joggers. Whatever makes you feel confident wear it! No matter what the occasion? Going to your boring 9-5 but you know you feel most confident glammed up? Stick those lashes on put on a fire outfit and get out there! The compliments will most definitely follow.

Stand tall and look up

This might seem like a weird one but we promise its sooo beneficial. So often we shrug over, walk facing the floor or keep our eyes on our phones, try putting your shoulders back, standing tall keeping your head up and opening your eyes to the world. You will look so confident the confidence will actually come to you. It’s one of our best tips but one that gets so often forgotten.

Exercise

Whats exercise got to do with confidence? Well actually quite a lot, and it’s definitely not about body image. Exercise releases endorphins, these make you happy which in turn make you positive which will inevitably lead to confidence! Not only that it’s great for your mental health and will give you so much more energy! You will also find yourself getting fitter and stronger which is bound to make you gain so much confidence in yourself. Give it a try, whether it’s a half an hour walk each day or your slogging it out at the gym for an hour each night, It will 100% only bring you good vibes.

Try these out and see how much your confidence can grow. It’s definitely not a quick road to go down but doing a little more day by day with leave you seeing a huge change, and don’t worry if you don’t have 100% confidence, nobody does, we all have our insecurities and thats normal! Even Beyonce doesn’t have all her sh*t together. Just know WE believe in you and we always will. You will grow your confidence we just know it.
